You are...

Beginners or amateurs

Many people are drawn to drawing or painting but often don’t take the first step for fear of not succeeding.
If this is your case, the best advice that we can give you is to watch children who, completely untrained, are completely unrestrained in their expression.
You will enjoy immense pleasure in painting and drawing on condition that you use the right tools and surfaces for each technique.
Watercolour is the perfect example: choosing the wrong paper could mean that it will wrinkle as soon as your colour loaded brush comes into contact. You would then perhaps think that you have no talent, that watercolour is not for you, and sadly abandon the whole idea. With the correct paper you could have obtained excellent results.
Thanks to its unique sizing it will not warp, you can rework mistakes, the colours will be bright, the results luminous and you will enjoy the experience of painting.

At CLAIREFONTAINE each paper is conceived for ease of use and to guarantee the best results: grainy textures to hold the pigments of chalks and pastel; additives to prolong the working time for gouache and acrylic; specially prepared surfaces for oil work or simply to allow erasing on drawing paper.
Each paper has its own specifics, the result of the alliance between ultra modern technology and our experience dating back to 1618.
We have also improved our packaging by increasing the range to offer something for everyone: formats, number of sheets.
Here again the choice is vast. Just take a look at our catalogue to find the packaging which suits you: a “trial” block for sampling the different watercolour papers; small pads to accompany you on holiday or “economical” blocs which allow you to experiment without having to worry about waste and the cost.
